This course would be ideal for any staff that intend to become a Fire Warden/Marshel for their organisation.
Training Objectives:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Brief overview of fire safety legislation
- Understand the nature of fire
- Recognize the ignition and source of fire
- Able to maintain safe fire management
- Identify risk hazards
- Understand the risks with smoke
- Steps to take in the event of discovering a fire
- Understand the needs and the ability to organize fire drills on a
regular basis - Be aware of good housekeeping
- Be proficient in identifying different types of, and using fire
extinguishers - Know when to and not to fight a fire
- Use of fire blankets in correct manner
- Know and understand the role of a fire warden
Course Syllabus:
- Fire safety legislation
- Fire Prevention,
- How Fire Spreads
- Action in the event of the Fire Alarm Sounding
- Explanation of First Aid
- Fire Fighting Equipment
- Actions to be carried out by the Fire Warden/Marshel
Course Assessment:
Course assessment will be in the form of a fire safety written quiz and practical in use of extinguishers.
Course Certification/Refresher Training/Re-Certification:
Each participant is awarded a Fire Safety Certificate upon successful completion of the course. This is valid for 2 years.
Additional Information:
Any special needs / requirements should be identified at the time of booking. Participants should be advised to dress appropriately, due to the nature of the course, there will be manual skills.
A resourceful and cost effective approach which many of our clients avail of is to incorporate two courses for staff on same day, this might include Fire Safety and Manual Handling, please speak to our advisers to learn more about this arrangement.
