“Manual Handling involves any transporting or supporting of any load by one or more employees, and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load, which by reason of its characteristics or unfavorable ergonomic conditions, involves risk, particularly of back injury, to employees.” Regulation 68 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, (General Application) Regulations 2007
Our Manual Handling Courses are delivered by a QQI (formerly known as FETAC) Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor and are designed to cover the content recommended under the 2007 Manual Handling Regulations and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005.
The courses will be tailored to each client as all workplaces and staff needs are different.
This half day course aims to provide all participants with the knowledge to make sure that they can carry out their activities, in a safe and correct manner, thereby preventing injury to themselves or others. Information regarding the consequences of carrying out their duties incorrectly will also be provided.

There is a written quiz and a practical in Manual Handling Skills.
Each participant is awarded a Manual Handling Certificate upon successful completion of the course. This is valid for 3 years.
Any special needs or requirements should be identified at the time of booking.
Participants should dress in loose, comfortable clothing, as the course will involve some practical elements.
